Job Description

Our backend team is the backbone of everything we do—designing resilient APIs, managing complex data relationships, and ensuring security and performance at scale. We're looking for a Backend Developer with expertise in Express.js, Prisma, and MySQL to join our growing engineering team.

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems for our web and mobile platforms. You’ll work closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to contribute to robust APIs, maintain database integrity, and assist with implementing cloud-based services using AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing RESTful APIs using Express.js

• Help model and manage databases using Prisma ORM with MySQL

• Support the building of scalable services and microservices deployed on AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, etc.)

• Contribute to performance, security, and scalability efforts of backend applications

• Learn to implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies in AWS

• Participate in architecture discussions and observe technical decision-making

• Participate in code reviews

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency with Node.js and Express.js

• Some experience with Prisma ORM and relational databases

• Basic understanding of AWS services (e.g., Lambda, RDS, S3, EC2, CloudWatch)

• Interest in writing clean, modular, and secure code

• Familiarity with authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth, etc.)

• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools (Docker, GitHub Actions, or similar)

• Willingness to improve debugging, performance profiling, and optimization skills

• Good communication and a willingness to learn

Nice to Have

• Interest in serverless architecture

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (e.g., AWS CDK)

• Basic knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB)

• Interest in integrating third-party APIs and services

• Awareness of high-traffic or mission-critical application environments
